2008 Summer Meeting
The Summer Meeting is quickly approaching and the Indiana Urban Forest Council Board of Directors would like to invite you to join us on July 24th in New Harmony, Indiana. The IUFC has changed the historical June date for the Summer meeting to July to coincide with the Tree Fund's Tour de Trees bike tour, which will start in Indianapolis and make its way through Indiana. The bike tour raises money for tree research and has never before ridden through the Hoosier state. The IUFC will be providing 10 trees for two of the tour stops, Vincennes and New Harmony. The final Indiana stop is scenic New Harmony and is the location where we will host a ceremony dedicating the trees planted in honor of the historic event, before we send the riders on to Illinois and begin our Summer Meeting.   The Summer Meeting will be an excellent opportunity to see Allen Pursell of the Nature Conservancy speak and will give communities an excellent networking opportunity as some of our southern communities showcase their projects. Please keep in mind that New Harmony is on Central Time. Rooms are available for $99 per night June 24th at which time they will go up to $140. The New Harmony Inn and Conference Center is a lovely place to stay in a town known for its beauty and history. We hope you'll join us July 24th and see the Tour riders off as they leave Indiana for Illinois!
